ARTICLE I - Name and Purpose
Section 1: Name
This chapter shall be called the Fuquay Bass Club of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina (herein referred to as the “Chapter”).
Section 2: Purpose
To stimulate public awareness of bass fishing as a major sport.
To offer our state conservation department our organized moral and political support and encouragement.
To promote full adherence to all conservation codes and to demand adequate water standards and legal enforcement of existing regulatory
To improve our skill as bass anglers through a fellowship of friendly exchange of expert bass catching techniques and ideas, and a love for
this great recreation.
ARTICLE II - Membership
Section 1: Number of Members
The Chapter shall have no more than 25 members.
Section 2: Requirement for Regular Membership
To become a member, a person shall:
Voluntarily express a genuine interest in membership.
Be recommended by two members at a regular monthly meeting.
Be voted on by membership.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Section 3: Membership Dues
The membership dues shall be $120.00 annually, payable in $10.00 increments collected at each regular meeting.
Section 4: Meetings of Members
The membership shall hold regular, monthly meetings at pre-established times.
ARTICLE III - Officers, Elections, Vacancies, and Eligibility
Section 1: Officers and their Duties
Officers shall conduct the affairs of the Chapter in a manner consistent with these bylaws. To protect the Chapter, officers may not hold
positions higher than the Chapter level within any other bass federation-type organization including but not limited to TBF/FLW and B.A.S.S.
The officers of the Chapter shall consist of:
President: Preside over all meetings, direct all official business, and supervise all Chapter functions.
Vice President: Act as program chairman, assist the President in his/her duties, and preside in the absence of the President.
Secretary: Maintain accurate minutes of all regular and special meetings as called for by the President.
Treasurer: Collect and disburse all monies, maintain accurate financial records, and present a current balance report at each regular
Tournament Director: Prepare the tournament schedule, maintain all tournament equipment, preside over all tournaments, maintain accurate
records for all tournaments during their term of office, and present the results for the previous month’s tournament at each regular
Assistant Tournament Director: Assist the Tournament Director in his/her duties and preside in the absence of the Tournament Director.
Section 2: Elections
The election of officers shall be held annually at a regular meeting during the month of December. Election shall be by simple majority vote of
members present. Election for each officer shall be held separately in order listed in ARTICLE III, Section 1.
Section 3: Term of Office
The term of office is for one year, which shall begin on January 1, and end on the last meeting day of December or until the successor assumes
Section 4: Vacancies
In the event of an office becoming vacant, nominations shall be asked for and an election held to fill the unexpired term of the individual
vacating the office.
Section 5: Eligibility for Holding Office
To be eligible for an office a Chapter member must:
Have been a member for 6 months except during the first 12 months of Chapter existence.
Have attended at least 75% of the Chapter functions during the past year or during their time as a member, whichever is shorter.
Have shown an active interest in all Chapter functions.
ARTICLE IV - Removal of Membership
Section 1: Removal of Membership
A member may be dropped from the membership roll for the following reasons:
Failure to pay dues for a period of 6 months.
Any action which would reflect dishonor and disgrace on the Chapter.
Failure to attend 50% of the Chapter functions during a 12-month period.
Members who are eligible for removal will be removed by a vote of the other members.
ARTICLE V - Affiliation
Section 1: Affiliation Status
The Chapter shall remain unaffiliated with any organization until the membership meets the minimum requirements for the organization. When the
minimum requirements have been met, affiliation shall be voted upon by the membership.
ARTICLE VI - Method of Amending the Bylaws
Section 1: Amending Bylaws and Tournament Rules
The bylaws and tournament rules may be amended annually at the December meeting by a vote. Amendment proposals must be presented orally or in
written form to an officer at least one meeting prior to the December meeting. All proposals shall be documented by the Secretary.
ARTICLE VII - Voting
Section 1: Affirmation
Unless otherwise noted, an affirmation shall be by 2/3 of the voting members. Each member may issue a single vote.
Section 2: Proxy Votes
Unless otherwise noted, proxy votes are permitted for all votes provided that the vote has been given in written or oral form to an officer.
